Ras Nas new CD Dar-es-Salaam. Musician TanzaniaRas Nas aka Nasibu Mwanukuzi, a reggae and afro musician from Tanzania, has finally broken a decade of silence with his new CD “Dar-es-Salaam”. In this CD Ras Nas has worked with some of the top musicians from Tanzania, Ivory Coast and Norway. The result is ground-breaking music that is surely going to please old and new fans alike.

In “Dar-es-Salaam” Ras Nas blends afro and reggae music, singing in both Swahili and English, a hallmark which has garnered Ras Nas respect at home and abroad. Dar-es-Salaam is the city in Tanzania where Ras Nas carved most of his musical concept. The song is a tribute to the city's beauty. The themes range from love to social consciousness with songs like Sweet Rhythms, Zakina, Guantanamo, and Revelation Times.

Among musicians taking part are the renowned Norwegian jazz and blues guitarist, Knut Reiersrud, Ivorian drummer Uriel Seri, bassist Keppy Kiombile from Kilimanjaro Band,  guitarist Noman Bikaka from Shada Band (Keppy and Norman come from Dar-es-Salaam) and horn players Rolf Erik and Halvor Voldstad. Norwegian bassist Larry Skogheim also contributes on a number of tracks.
