Kohinoor releases a new EP "Local Anaesthetic". Oslo, Norway.

"Local Anaesthetic" is the title of a new EP by Kohinoor, a singer and songwriter originally from Bangladesh, but now living in Oslo, Norway.

The EP "Local Anaesthetic" contains five songs all written and composed by Kohinoor.

So, who is Kohinoor?

Kohinoor is born in Dacka, Bangladesh and came to Norway when she was 3 1/2 years old. She began to perform as a dancer when she was 12 years.

After finishing her primary education she joined the Ballet Highschool in Oslo and she immediately got a role in A Chorus Line.

Kohinoor has taken part in a number of musicals in Trondheim, and Oslo in Norway as well as Stockholm in Sweden. In addition to musicals she has been involved as an actress in small as well as big roles, on stage, in films and television series.

However "I always wanted to express something more that I could in the musicals" says Kohinoor.

As a result, Kohinoor went back to the country of her birth, Bangladesh and was appalled by the extreme poverty and life's brutal sides. She made a trip to Jamaica to learn more about Rastafarian culture and returned back to Norway. This experience can be felt in her new EP "Local Anaesthetic".
