Mwana FA and AY. Bongo Flava concerts in Uk

Two among the top Bongo Flava artists from Tanzania are to perform in UK on 30th and 31st January. These are none other than Mwana FA and AY. The show, dubbed  "2009 Bongo Flava Xplosion Yes We Can" is organized by Bongouk.com. Mwana FA is one of Tanzania’s brightest bongo flava artists with a string of hits under his belt. His popularity is due, largely to his mastery and ability to mould the Swahili language into a poetic and entertaining flow. His recent album Habari Ndiyo Hiyo is a collaboration with AY, another very popular artis. Mwana FA is credited with a string of hits and merits like Ingekuwa Vipi & Showtime (2002), Mabinti & Alikufa Kwa Ngoma (Best Hip Hop Single 2004), Unanitega ft Noorah (Best Hip Hop Album 2005), Hawajui ft Lady Jaydee (Best Collaboration 2007) and recently Binamu and Habari Ndiyo Hiyo. AY aka Ambwene Yesaya In the history of Music in Tanzania, there had never been a male bongo flava artist nominated for Kora African music Awards. Yesaya Ambwene aka AY was the first one to be nominated. Ay was nominated in the category of the best male artist from Eastern and Central Africa in 2005. Ay is also one of the nominees for the best song from Tanzania for Kisima Music Awards in Kenya with his song “Inategemea na mtu”- It depends on the person. This song promotes respect for various people no matter how they look like, hence “Don’t judge a book by its cover” as the saying goes.
