Fresh Jumbe Mkuu is a Tanzanian musician (singer/songwriter), born in Tanga northeast coast of Tanzania. He started singing in Tanga with his friends when he was 6 years old. In 1984 while he was still litle boy, he moved to the capital Dar es salaam and joined Dar International band. 

Fresh performed with many famous musicians and bands in Tanzania like Juwata Jazz band, Mlimani park band and Safari sound band, and wrote and sang many hit songs between 1984 and 1990. Jirani, Masudi, Bwana Mashaka, Namsaka mbaya wangu (Ama zake ama zangu), Pamela, Ndoa ya lazima, Conjester, Kinyozi hajinyoi, Elimu ni msingi wa maisha, Tuhifadhi mazingira and Penzi ni kikohozi are some of his hit numbers in Tanzania.

In 1988 his song TUHIFADHI MAZINGIRA (Let's protect  Environment) was a huge hit in Tanzania, and that made him to be one of only two Tanzanian musicians who were chosen by Tanzania Environment Organization to present Tanzania in African Environment festival  in Nairobi Kenya, 1989. 

Fresh Jumbe Mkuu -  A Tanzanian musician In 1990, after he became very famous in Tanzania and managed to have many hit songs in Tanzanian music chart, Fresh decided to go to Kenya to try to widen his talent. In Kenya, Fresh and other musicians from Tanzania, Kenya and DRC found Angusha band. In 1991 the band became very popular in Nairobi.

In 1992 Fresh Jumbe and Angusha band signed 6 months' contract to perform in an African club (Pigapiga) in Tokyo Japan. After 6 month's good job in Tokyo, they went back to Kenya. The following year in 1993, they went back to Japan again for another 6 months' contract. In 1994 Fresh moved to London where he continued with his music business.  In 1995 Fresh decided to move and start his new life in Tokyo Japan where he currently lives and do his music business.

In 1996, Fresh found his band SANGANA MUSICA (Now The Tanzanites), which has 7 members, 4 from Tanzania, 1 from DRC and 2 Japanese. His band Sangana Musica(Now The Tanzanites) became very popular all around Japan, and till now he has been performing in all kind of events, festivals, live houses, primary schools, junior high schools and high schools around Japan.

Fresh often visits and performs in his country Tanzania for his fans.  In Tanzania and African tour, Fresh always performs with a Tanzanian popular band IN AFRICA BAND based in Dar es salaam Tanzania. His song PENZI NI KIKOHOZI (1998) was no.1 hit in Tanzanian top ten chart for more than two months. Another song TUHIFADHI MAZINGIRA (LET'S PROTECT ENVIRONMENT) also took no. 1 in 1997. Fresh mainly sings in swahili, but also in English and Japanese.  He owns a recording studio and Video production in Tokyo where he records his own music, commercial music for radios, and also other  musicians' (mostly foreigners) who live in Japan.
